Rebuilding Stronger, Together

At Bastrop County Long Term Recovery Team (BCLTRT), we are dedicated to helping our community prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters. Since our founding, we have been a trusted resource for individuals and families navigating the challenges of rebuilding their lives after fires, floods, and other emergencies.

Through collaboration, resilience, and support, we work alongside local organizations, government agencies, and volunteers to provide relief, recovery resources, and long-term assistance to those in need. Our mission is to ensure that no one in Bastrop County faces disaster recovery alone.

Our Impact in Bastrop County

Bastrop County has faced numerous disasters that have tested the strength of our community, and BCLTRT has been there every step of the way.

  • 2011 Bastrop Complex Fire – One of the most devastating wildfires in Texas history, destroying over 1,600 homes and affecting thousands of residents. BCLTRT played a critical role in coordinating recovery efforts, providing financial assistance, and helping families rebuild.

  • 2015 Memorial Day & Halloween Floods – Severe flooding swept through the area, displacing families and damaging homes. Our team provided emergency resources, case management, and reconstruction support.

  • 2017 Hurricane Harvey – Though Bastrop County was not directly in the hurricane’s path, throughout our county residents still sustained wind damage and some flooding. We assisted evacuees from other areas and supported long-term relief efforts across our county.

  • Winter Storm Uri (2021) – The historic freeze left many without power, water, and essential supplies. BCLTRT helped distribute food, water, and emergency aid to affected residents.

  • COVID-19 Pandemic – As the pandemic impacted Bastrop County, we provided critical relief, including food distribution, rent and utility assistance, and support for families facing financial hardship.

Whether you’re seeking assistance, looking to volunteer, or wanting to support our efforts, BCLTRT is here for you. Together, we can build a stronger, more resilient community—one step at a time.

Join us in making a difference.
